Products supplied for use in hazardous areas must be selected, installed, commissioned, inspected, maintained, and used strictly in accordance with the applicable certification, markings, installation instructions, manufacturer documentation, and all relevant South African statutory requirements, including applicable SANS standards and directives for hazardous locations.
The Customer remains responsible for ensuring that the equipment is suitable for the intended hazardous area classification, gas/dust group, temperature class, environmental conditions, and method of installation. Supply of equipment by BARTEC Safety (Pty) Ltd does not constitute confirmation that the Customer's site classification, installation design, or application is correct or compliant, unless this is expressly confirmed in writing as part of a defined engineering or inspection scope.
All hazardous area equipment must be installed and inspected by competent persons in accordance with applicable SANS requirements, including, where relevant, SANS 60079 series requirements for explosive atmospheres and any applicable South African statutory or regulatory directives.
Any modification, repair, alteration, substitution of components, unauthorised opening, incorrect installation, or use outside the certified conditions may invalidate the equipment certification, approval, warranty, and suitability for use in a hazardous area. This includes changes to enclosures, glands, entries, cable types, seals, internal components, software/firmware where relevant, accessories, mounting arrangements, and any item forming part of the certified assembly.
Where equipment is supplied with ATEX, IECEx, IA, or other certification, such certification applies only to the equipment and configuration as supplied and documented. The Customer is responsible for maintaining certification integrity after delivery, including correct installation, periodic inspection, maintenance records, and ensuring that no unauthorised changes are made.
BARTEC Safety (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for unsafe installation, incorrect area classification, unauthorised modification, misuse, lack of inspection, lack of maintenance, or operation outside the certification scope or manufacturer's instructions.
